The Mantra Mackay was previously the Clarion Hotel Mackay, and was purchased by TARHF in September 2019 with vacant possession. We have agreed that this property will be rebranded as the Mantra Mackay from 15 December 2019 in our second franchise agreement with the Accor Group.
The property has 79 stunning rooms and a large restaurant, as well as a vacant land block on the waterfront for further development which is seasonally used by an events Marquee at this stage. Clearly the premium property in Mackay, we intend to add value to the asset via renovation of the reception and food and beverage outlet which currently are bland and lack atmosphere. The partnership with Accor should further enhance revenue, particularly with leisure guests which the property currently lacks.
